What are embargos?
Embargos restrict the freedom of foreign trade with certain countries, e.g. total embargos, partial embargos, or weapon embargos. Meanwhile also person-related, country-independent embargos exist ("anti-terror lists").

In several regulations the European Union has passed restrictive measures to combat
terrorism. According to the provisions included there, specific individuals, groups, or organizations listed under the index of names belonging to those regulations must not,
neither directly nor indirectly, be provided with financial assets or economical resources or enabled to benefit thereof.
