Introduction of a person as „authorised Economic Operator - AEO” (Authorized Economic Operator - AEO) (Article 5a ZK new).
The status of „Authorised Economic Operator” can
be approved for any participant in the economy fulfilling the specified criteria (e.g., liquidity, proper adherence to customs regulations, satisfactory accounting). The criteria having been controlled once do not have to be controlled again in other member countries when further simplifications are applied for.
An „Authorised Economic Operator” can claim facilitations and simplifications, The extent of which will be defined in a future amendment to customs regulations.
In the instructions for application the rules on approval, responsibilities and validity areas (geographical and/or technical) and also the cancellation of this status are to be defined.¹
